This is my best pal, Whitney aka Witchney.
She’s the one on the left. Flo Rida is the one on the right, and I’m the one in the back desperately trying to get in the selfie. We’ve been friends since we were five. When we were in first grade, I gave her Space Jam on VHS for her birthday. THAT’S how long this friendship has stood. We grew up two blocks from each other. We were freshman roommates. We studied abroad together. We’ve been on Live with Kelly and The Tonight Show. When we lived states away, we would call each other every morning on our way to work. Not to brag, but we are friendship goals.
Last year for her 30th, Whitney’s sister and I had a delightfully epic Office themed birthday party planned. But last March, I can’t remember exactly what happened, but something happened and we had to cancel. In an effort to make birthdays great again, Savannah and I planned a surprise birthday lunch at Whitney’s house. We broke in while she and her husband were at church and decorated and ordered food from a local restaurant. It was a (Hamil)TON of fun.
The food and beverages were obviously on theme. Duh. Do you know me?
If you’re ever in Monroe, Georgia, hit up LR Burger.
A funfetti bundt cake is never a bad idea.
Lorde was wrong, Witchney. You WILL be royal. Ages rise. Empires fall. We have seen each other through it all.
Lin Manuel, call us.
“I’ve got some good friends now. But I’ve never seen their parents’ back porch. There’s nothing like old friends cause you can’t make old friends.”
Happy Birthday, Witchney!
