We did a Valentine’s edition of Season Somethings last year. We had so much fun writing it that we decided that we needed to repeat because we all need more pink in our lives.

Something to eat
Kat
There has never been a problem that couldn’t be solved by breakfast food and/or cookie dough. Trisha Yearwood’s cookie dough truffles are the perfect way to tell someone you love them. Or just make them for yourself.

It’s called “self care”, and you can pay a lot to a therapist to get them to tell you to practice that. Don’t ask how I know. But I also know you need to make these.

Caroline
We don’t make these very often, but they are a fun treat to make for special occasions. These sour cream donuts are easy, pretty, and tasty. The 4 year old in my house loves to help make these and loves to help partake in these.

Something to watch
Kat
I feel like I was in college right around the time that viral videos became “a thing”. Hide yo kids. Hide yo wife. Glozelle. Charlie bit my finger. Such precious memories. I remember my friends and I would watch proposal videos quite regularly. This one was a classic, but it’s this couple’s less popular video that’s my “something to watch”. I cry every. single. time.
Caroline
My something to watch is a little bit different and might sound a little bit creepy. It’s my new favorite family on Instagram. Our dear mother has Instagram; I think she first got it to follow the Real Housewives(typical), but she has evolved and started following lots more. She told me a long time ago to follow this mom because of her daughter, Indy. I would always nod but ignore. Oops.
I recently gave in and started following and now all I want for Christmas this year is to meet Indy. She has Down Syndrome and has battled leukemia for most of her short life. She’s amazing! She is joy personified and should be the face of Valentine’s Day. Go spend a few minutes and watch their videos and read about their story; it’s pretty incredible. Through all of their ups and downs, their faith has been steadfast.

Something to buy
Kat
February 14th or not I want to smell good. Caroline talked about this amber oil eons ago, so I got some shortly thereafter. It’s delightful. It’s fragrant without being overpowering, and this is coming from someone who used to religiously wear ‘Curious’ by Britney Spears.

Caroline
Since Kat talked about smells, I’ll jump on the scented bandwagon. One of my favorite, cleaner ways to have your house smelling good is essential oils. I’m not a huge oil enthusiast, but they do make me happy, and they smell delightful. I definitely don’t feel like Chuck Norris does here, but I do appreciate them for certain things.

This is my favorite diffuser, and this is my favorite place to get oils. I used to buy from one of those MLM companies, and they cost way too much. This company takes out the middle man and still produces a great, high quality products. The citrus delight is probably my favorite scent to have going most days. Check them out at Christmas too because all the scents will jingle your bells.

Something to wear
Kat
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I like a dainty earring. I’m someone who LOVES a holiday and a theme, so this is a somewhat unorthodox “something to wear”, but I love these little heart earrings. You can’t spell heart without ear, amirite?………*silence*

Caroline
I used to be normal and go to work everyday. Now I stay home, and my big outings are to the grocery store aka I don’t put on or buy normal clothes a lot. Most days it’s a sweatshirt and leggings. Then about 6:00 when my workday is done, I change from one comfortable thing to the next. I’ve mentioned my adoration for Soma pajamas before, and my heart still beats for them, but I got these recently, and they are now running a close race with the Soma ones. I love that they are cropped legs because my 5 foot self doesn’t have to get them hemmed, and the pink and white ones just scream Valentines.
Something to do
Kat
Last year on my “something to do” I had to issue a formal apology 22 years in the making. I’m happy to report that I DID in fact apologize in the form of an Instagram post, and Randall forgave me. I know some of you have been waiting 365 days for that update.
My “something to do” is make a playlist. I just looked on Spotify and the Valentine’s playlists that have been curated are trash. If you have “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias and “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston on a Valentine’s playlist, you cannot be trusted. Nobody loves that power ballad more than this girl, but it’s a breakup song. Dolly was leaving her duet partner.Come on, people. I just wish I could add my own voice to my playlist like Janice.

Caroline
Valentine’s Day will be very exciting around here. I’ve hired Kenny G and Lionel Richie to come and serenade us with some love ballads that night.
JK. We’ll be making heart shaped pancakes, and Claire will get to pick out a gift for her sisters this weekend, and they will pick out one for her. AKA I’ll pick out a Barbie for them to give her.

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Love is in the air…so is Covid, so wash your hands.

Isaac and Amy!! 😍😍 Such a fun post today girl❤️
Fun post!
What a fun post! I’m going to have to look into those essential oils! 😉
Loved it all! I follow Indy and her mom too. They’re incredible.
