Anyone else feel that Sebastian sentiment every time they turn on the tv? We’re joining Momfessionals and A Little Bit of Everything for some favorites to take your mind off the crazy because we all just “want to be where the people are.” #nailedit

Is there anything better than chips and salsa? Answer: no. I don’t know if I’ve ever met a salsa that I didn’t like. A few months ago (actually the day before I started a juice cleanse) I went to Willy’s to get a burrito to go out with a bang. The man in front of me at the salsa bar had asked for a water cup, and he was filling that with salsa. What a hero. I LOVE the Pioneer Woman’s peach salsa. It’s glorious, BUT if you don’t have time nor care to put in the effort to find fresh peaches, Trader Joe’s makes a delicious peach salsa too.

Call me a nerd, but I love learning about the presidents. I get that from my mom. If there’s one thing that woman loves, it’s a presidential biography (and peanut butter). I heard about this podcast through another podcast. I’ve joked that since March, I’ve listened to every podcast there is. I’m fresh out. Obviously, that’s not true, but I continue to go on long walks and love listening to new things. This podcast (Presidential) was started by a writer at the Washington Post who realized during the 2016 election that she didn’t know much about the presidents who aren’t considered “big names”. You know Washington. You know Lincoln. You know FDR. You know a smattering of small facts in between, but give Millard Fillmore some love. Each episode is a forty (or so) minute deep dive about the president. I’m loving it so far, and I’ve listened to Washington-Jefferson.

There’s an episode of Modern Family where Jay is trying to give Manny some more self confidence, and he makes Manny repeat the phrase, “I look great in every hat.” I, however, do not look great in every hat, BUT I do REALLY like this hat for the summer. I have worn it any time I’m by a pool or trying to “zhuzh” up an outfit for a picnic or dinner on a patio. The sun is a formidable opponent, people. Don’t try to defeat it. You will lose.

This little darling told me yesterday that she loves my “makin and cookin,” and it became my favorite. It was sweet and a far cry from what she told me a few weeks ago when she was mad at me because I wouldn’t let her do something. She declared that all the food I make is “bigusting” because she wanted to hit me where it hurts. I’m glad she’s now changed her mind.

I am basically a 5 year old based on the facts that I require a ton of sleep each night and two snacks a day. I usually go through snack cycles and eat the same thing everyday for a while and switch. This has been my choice the past couple of months, and I had to restock this week and figured I should tell you about it. Buy both kinds and mix them when you eat them. They are good separately but even better together just like Dolly and Kenny.

Any time I recommend a book just know it’s always going to be considered a “light, easy” read. Let’s face it. I’m not reading Tolstoy. I just finished these two and enjoyed them both, so I thought I’d share. They’re cute, girly, and might take your mind off of all the harmony crazy happening in the world.
Thank y’all for reading! Enjoy a weekend full of presidents and pistachios; what more could you need?

All of this hot week I’ve needed that cute hat, Kat! It’s perfect ! And pistachios just went on my grocery list. Great suggestions today!
I really enjoyed The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist! I love a sweet salsa (mango, pineapple, peach) so I’ll have to check out that Trader Joe’s salsa.
You won’t regret it. Thanks for reading.
Haha! Bigusting. My son told me I was wearing a granny swimsuit yesterday…it was a one piece. Thanks, Dude! Sigh.
Feeling too confident? Have a child.
This post had me cracking up and and saying me too!! TGIF!!
Praise the Lord! Go get you some pistachios.
