We are joining A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals to share some of our favorite moms of pop culture.

It’s graduation season. Wait. It says “mom” in the title. I know. There is method to my madness (not always, but there is now). If you haven’t watched the latest Some Good News with John Krasinski that recognizes the Class of 2020, watch that when you’re done reading this, of course. Remember when you were in high school, and it was such an honor to receive a senior superlative? Well, at most high schools, I graduated with nineteen, so I can’t brag too hard on being voted MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED thank you very much.

Now I dress up as Fred Rogers almost weekly for a web “show” that my school has put on during quarantine. So yeah, Class of 2008, you got it right. #success

We (I) thought it would be fun to combine graduation season with Mother’s Day and also throw in pop culture because that’s what I do. So here we have the results of the “Mom Likely To” awards voted on by me.
Mom Likely To Keep It “Real”:
Kris Jenner

This woman has made millions by doing basically nothing but stirring the pot. I applaud that wholeheartedly. I haven’t watched KUWTK in years, but Kris always delivered fantastic one liners.

Love her or hate her she really does love her kids and grandkids and is their number one cheerleader (even when they are posing for PlayBoy).

Mom Likely To Be Your Best Friend:
Lorelai Gilmore

Is anyone surprised by this pick? Probably not. Do I have some issues with how Lorelai handled motherhood? A couple. BUT at the end of the day, to quote Rory’s graduation speech, “She filled our house with love and fun and books and music unflagging in her efforts to give me role models from Jane Austen to Eudora Welty to Patti Smith.”

Mom Likely To Terrify You During a Rant:
Clair Huxtable

I LOVED the Cosby Show. I hate that it’s tainted now. That lip sync that they did on the stairs to Ray Charles is iconic.
Also, the rant that Clair gives to Vanessa after The Wretched concert is iconic. Do you remember that episode? Vanessa lied to her parents. Left New York to go to Baltimore to go to a concert. Had a car stolen. Had her tickets stolen. All for “big fun” at The Wretched. It’s amazing. It’s terrifying. And remind me to stay on Phylicia Rashad’s good side.
Mom Likely To Embarrass You:
Sophia Petrillo

I grew up on The Golden Girls. I’ve previously mentioned that I own four shirts dedicated to those senior citizens. Love them. Our whole family loves them. About a year ago my dad called me (my dad rarely calls me) to ask what channel the Golden Girls were always on. 304, Chuckles.
I love them all for different reasons, but Sophia’s relentless comments will always make me laugh. She’s the kind of flawless I wish I could be, but I’m glad she’s not my mother to call me out on my untoned back.

Mom Likely To Dress Inappropriately for the Occasion:
Moira Rose

You might not like Catherine O’Hara as Cate McCallister because what kind of mother leaves her eight year old at home and goes to Paris? But Catherine O’Hara as Moira Rose, you can’t help but love. The accent. The wigs. The dramatics. If you haven’t watched Schitt’s Creek, then here is a clip of her auditioning to be in the town choir after telling everyone she is a professional. Be prepared to fall in love.

What moms would you add to this list? What superlative would you give your own mom? Because Paula is “Mom Likely to Have 15 Jars of Peanut Butter”.

Happy Mother’s Day to all!

I’m a huge GG fan and Loralei would totally be your best friend. And was. The Cosby Show is a classic. And I wish I could be like Clair. Happy Friday!
My love for Gilmore Girls runs deep! Thanks for reading! Happy weekend!
What a fun roundup of Most Likely to moms! I haven’t watched Schitt’ss Creek, yet, but one of my daughters told me I might like it.
It’s hilarious. The language is a bit much at times, but overall, it’s a great show! Highly recommend! Thanks for reading!
Fun list! I want to go to the Wretched!
Don’t we all?!
