Happy Friday, friends! It’s been a big week. I flew to Indiana for cake, and we ended up driving three hours to Chicago for pizza and a Home Alone tour. The themes of this week were: food and frivolity, and those are two of my favorite things. So let’s get started…shall we?

So when my friend, Marie and I went to Indianapolis in March we stumbled into Cake Bake. We made a pact that whenever one of us has a “big life” event that we would throw caution to the wind and fly back and celebrate over cake. I just moved into a house and am living by myself for the first time ever. Big life event? I think so.

We flew to Indiana for cake, so we were going to eat cake. We drove to the second Cake Bake location that evening for slices of coconut with passion fruit curd, lemon blueberry, and peanut butter crunch. I felt like garbage that night, but like fancy garbage. Garbage from the Ritz Carlton.

A favorite of mine is ALWAYS when people embrace my ridiculous, and that’s exactly what Marie does. She mapped it out so I could see the Home Alone house and the “drugstore” where Kevin steals the toothbrush NOT approved by the American Dental Association. What. a. friend.

My fourth favorite is touristy things crammed into three hours.

My last favorite has to be deep dish pizza. Obviously.

Now go eat until you feel like fancy garbage. It is the weekend after all.

What a fun trip! I love everything you did and ate!
