This is your captain speaking, and I’m without my co-pilot today. My dramatic co-pilot was quite busy packing up boxes of coffee mugs and yarn (yes, yarn) to move into her new place, so it’s just me today. Buckle your seatbelts, and let us pray I don’t go into cardiac arrest. We also might experience some turbulence. Hang on.
All that pilot talk caused me to dig into the archives, and I found this picture from when Mark and I were dating. Let’s all pay attention to the fact that it looks like I’m dating a 9 year old.
Here are my favorites this week.
I love the Olympics…love them. Do not make me sit down and watch a college football game or the Masters with you, but I will sit down and watch these super humans win a gold medal, and I will cry when they stand on the podium. I watched this on my flight home the other day, and it was so interesting. I was hoping for a little more of the pomp and circumstance that comes with the Olympics, but I’ll get that in a few months. This was pretty fascinating to see what these athletes go through even after their time is done. It’s a bit heavy but still good to watch. It’s on HBO by the way.
My next favorite might label me as a hippie of some sorts. That’s ok. Just know I have never and will never have dreadlocks.
I don’t really love dry shampoo. I honestly find it kind of yuck, and I’ll maybe use it once and then the next day I’m just going to wash my hair. I also cringe at the thought of all the junk that is in that dry shampoo. I just really don’t feel like spraying butane on my tresses. Eek.
Enter: Tapioca flour and cocoa or cacao powder. Just mix equal parts of each. I put a little more cocoa powder since my hair is very dark. Not sure if this would work on blondes, but give it a try. If nothing else, your hair will smell like a muffin.
I love a bottle of booch, and I’ve discovered my new favorite flavor. It’s very summery-just like aloe on a sunburn.
Here’s another drink I love. These are a better alternative to a Crystal Light situation, and they taste like lemon perfection. Bottoms up.
These Target carts are a favorite to hold these two even though it feels like I’m driving an army tank.
Elton John would be so proud of this tiny dancer this week. She has been asking to try ballet for a while, so we started with a camp in case she hated it. I don’t know that she’s headed to Julliard, but we will see.
These two fathers will be celebrated this weekend, and they are deserving.
There is no one more selfless or hardworking than this guy. There is also no one who laughs harder at Barney’s antics in an Andy Griffith episode that has already been viewed about 89 times.
I guess the world’s second most hard working guy would be the father of my children. This man can do anything, fix anything, and he knows the answer to any question I ask. We are thankful for all the ways he takes care of us because oh my goodness, we wouldn’t survive without him. However, I could do with a little less news that he has blaring 24/7. Over it.
Thanks for coming aboard today. See you Monday.
