Pretty slow week.

Let’s not dilly dally. Let’s join Momfessionals and A Little Bit of Everything for some favorites.

Kat
Have I got some quality television for you. The Repair Shop on Netflix features a little thatched roof cottage in England that houses some master craftsmen. The premise of the show is people bring in their family heirlooms or childhood memorabilia, and someone in the repair shop is able to bring it back to life. After one episode, I was ready to sign up for blacksmith lessons. I’m probably not doing the best job selling you on this, but trust me. It’s delightful.

I’m a connoisseur of leggings. Broads be basic. I have everything from Zella, to Lulu to Target and everything in between. My favorites, though, are probably the ones I have from Athleta, but these Aerie ones are gunning for that coveted top spot. You’ll slide them on and say, “I can’t believe it’s not butter” because THAT’S how smooth they are. Shoutout to my friend, Hannah for this rec.

I cannot properly articulate how many times I’ve laughed about this this week, so I had to share. My friend, Whitney, told me to watch The Flight Attendant on HBO Max. It has a murder/thriller vibe. After two episodes, I told her how much it stressed me out. She promised that it resolved nicely, and I needed to stick with it. She also asked me to text her updates as I watched. I ASSUMED that she would know that at 8:26 on a Monday night I’d be sitting in front of my tv with a cup of peppermint tea watching The Flight Attendant.

Spoiler alert: She DID NOT. She Face-timed me immediately to see what was happening. I think this says a lot about A) my neighborhood B) how I deliver news.

Our new lawn care service started this week. They do a really cute job but not the most efficient.

This next one may be more than you ever wanted to know about me. Whatevs. Today it is my duty to tell you about these in case you didn’t know. I’m in a chat with a few friends and one friend who shall not be named said getting older means she now has a stache. Don’t we all? I said to use these. She scoffed but then later this week texted me for the link and then another one of them wanted to get them too. I am such a missionary in the facial hair field.
You can use them all over your face to get rid of any and all peach fuzz. Exfoliate, use these, moisturize, and do it all while listening to Celine Dion so you don’t feel too manly. That’s a pro tip.

I shall never reveal the names of these people because one of them would simply die if her husband ever knew she had hair on her face, ever used the bathroom, and didn’t naturally wake up looking fresh faced and dewey.

I have several breakfasts I rotate through and sometimes add in something new to the rotation to jazz up my life a bit. I will never understand people who eat the same thing every day. Ugh. This has been my breakfast this week. This is my perfect oatmeal method.
- DO NOT MAKE IT IN THE MICROWAVE.
- Mix your 1/2 cup oats in a saucepan with 1 1/4 cup liquid. Most say 1 cup for one serving. Don’t listen. I usually do half water and half coconut milk.
- Oatmeal instructions also tell you to boil your water/milk first. Don’t listen to that Quaker man. Boil the liquid with the oats with a dash of salt too.
- Simmer on low/medium heat for as long as you need to because I don’t know your life-I don’t know if you use old fashioned or quick cooking. ANOTHER TIP: DO NOT STIR. Over-stirring will make it too gummy, gluey, and all the other ‘g’ adjectives.
- Then add 1 Tbs. peanut butter and 2 teaspoons honey and chia seeds/hemp seeds if you’re feeling healthy.
Who knew I needed to write a novel on oatmeal today?
I also don’t have a picture because it’s about as attractive as a woman’s mustache.

I picked this up on a whim this week. Slap a valentine name and some valentine colors on something, and I’ll buy it. It’s like kettle corn…but not. It’s sweet…but not. It’s salty…but not. I really don’t have any idea how to describe it, but it’s delicious. I should be a food critic, shouldn’t I? I’ll be just like Julia Roberts in My Best Friend’s Wedding. If you see this, buy yourself a treat.

Have we talked enough? I think we have. Enjoy your weekend, and check on your friends who live near balconies like Whitney did. It’s the right thing to do.

checking out those leggings! Thanks!
A must.
We began watching the Repair shop too and are just loving it.
A new favorite. Who knew??
I see on lots of blogs people mentioning the little shavers for face peach fuzz. I hesitate because than that means I’m committed for life!? I mean, if you stop, than the regrowth starts and is it worse?! Or how does it look during all the phases of regrowth? I just imagine giving yourself bangs and then deciding to regrow them again. The regrowth phase is torture. I don’t want to be 80, senile and forget to shave my face. Than I’d be that old lady with the gross random mustache. So is my mind thinking too hard about this? π
Yea….you do have to keep up with it. However, at 80, I don’t think you or anyone will care. I have a friend who says if she’s ever in a coma, she has made her sister promise to come groom her face. π She’s not crazy at all…
Caroline,
I took the plunge and just ordered myself those razors! (But holy cow, they came in a huge package!) I told Kat I think I’ll have enough for myself for the next ten years and still have some to give my baby girl when she starts growing a mustache! Thanks for the recommendation. π
