One year ago today, the two of us set off to act like idiots on the internet. Then it was no turning back because we are both pretty stubborn, and if we start something, we don’t want to quit. Truth be told, we really enjoy it. It gives me a way to be a little creative since I’m not teaching right now. It gives Kat a way to show off things like her Elton John costume, obnoxious American flag leggings, and her as Kim Kardashian with champagne popping off her booty. What a journey.
If you’ve been reading since the beginning, thank you. If you’re a new reader, thank you. We tossed around some ideas about what to do today because let’s face it-the first anniversary of a blog is a very big deal. Nah. We don’t take ourselves that seriously. However, we are “cheers-ing” in two ways.
1. We’re highlighting our top 5 posts from our first year. Aaaaand since we make the rules around here, it will actually be a top 6.
2. We’re giving away a little prize.
Top Posts
- Our very first post is one of my favorites. It was a tribute to our dramatics, and that’s something we don’t take lightly.
- Our salute to the 90’s is coming in hot at the number 2 slot. It literally offered no wisdom to anyone, but it was a great trip down memory lane, and I love memory lane.
- My tribute to the twins for their first birthday is my final favorite. Oof. It makes me miss those many sleepless nights. They were so itty bitty, and now my tears are not.

4. Our anniversary Q&A for our parents was definitely a favorite. Chuck and Paula are two of the funniest people I know. (There’s a Kim and Kanye as a couple reference in there. How things have changed since April…)
5. Caroline wrote tributes to her offspring. I wrote a tribute to my old car. Trust me. If you haven’t read it, it’s funnier than it sounds.
6. I’m missing traveling (or even the thought of traveling) something fierce, so our tribute to our glorious planet and the wonderful places on it is a favorite.
Now that we’ve covered that part, let’s give someone a prize. Since the first anniversary is paper related, we are making traditionalists everywhere proud and giving away a somewhat paper gift. I’ve mentioned several times how much I love Lindsay Letters. You can get a canvas or print in any of her art. We are giving away a gift card to one winner to Lindsay Letters, so you can choose something beautiful from her collection to add to your home.
Comment on our post and enter the Rafflectoper. We will choose a winner at random and let you know on Friday. FYI Your information will be private.
Since we’re celebrating 1 year, we’d love to come to each of your homes and sing “Seasons of Love” for you, but since we can’t, we’d love to know how YOU “measure a year?” For example, I would measure a year in episodes of Wheel of Fortune. Kat would measure a year in stacks of pancakes. What about you? Please leave a comment and tell us and then enter to win.
Thank you for reading!

Y’all have been a source of laughter and fun in an unexpectedly yucky year. Keep up the good work please.
Thank you!
I have to go with the song and say in cups of coffee!
Nicely done.
In loads of laundry….
Amen.
In Dateline episode’s….I don’t know what that says about me.
We approve.
The two of you, bring laugh out loud moments to my days. Thank you. As you know, any reference to our beloved Gilmore Girls reminds me of why we are kindred spirits. Love to both.
The best compliment! Thank you!
Hmmm…Caroline, I have to say I would measure mine in Diet Cokes because you know how near and dear to my heart and sustenance they are. Miss you!
I could have guessed that! You and our mom would get along beautifully.
I love reading knowing there are other people out there as weird as I am (hopefully you take no offense!). Love your blog!
I guess I’d measure my year in poopy diapers. When will these kids figure out the potty training thing?!?!?!?!?!!
Ha! None taken! Thanks for reading!
Congratulations to two of my favorite people. I’m with Kat… I miss traveling too! Love ya’ll! <3 Smoochie.
Congrats! I measure mine in laughs at your funny blogs. I’m glad your sister told me about it. =-)
This blog and my beloved child are turning ONE!! What a week to be alive! Love you ladies and all of your dramatics that bring such joy 🥰
I love pipping over here go read about your adventures on this hilarious site! I’m gonna measure my year in giggles! Keep them coming ladies and I’ll keep giggling 🤭
Happy One year !!! Y’all have made me laugh and look forward to every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! I would measure a year in chips and queso….!!
I’d measure a year in books read and queso eaten… missing the good Mexican restaurant life- communal baskets of chips and double dipping in the queso. Darn you COVID!!
I just finished watching the office episode where they sing seasons of love. I was celebrating your anniversary before I even realized it! You two give me something to look forward to 3 times a week!
Congratulations on 1 year! You two made me laugh this year!
I should win because….Guess what, I have flaws. What are they? Oh, I don’t know. I sing in the shower. Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I’ll hit somebody with my car. So sue me.
Congratulations on One Year!! Woohoo!!! Mine would be in miles run. I made it to 1000 last year.
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes.
Five hundred twenty five thousand moments so dear (and bizarre).
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes.
How do you measure,
Measure a year?
Me you might ask?
In laughing…
In crying…
In diapers…
In gallons of coffee…
In family, FaceTime, in wine, in earmuffs (for multiple reasons)!!
Love y’all and love your blog. Makes me smile as big as I did when I watched The One with Ross’ Tan every time I get to read it!! Cheers to another year!
I love you both! Caroline, you know how much I miss my Claire Bear. Cole’s week of fun will be open (to one special 4 yr old) this summer. Name the week! Congrats to you two on your first year!! I’m pretty sure I’d measure a year in…
The number of Netflix shows binged, the number of trips to Trader Joe’s, and the amount of dark chocolate/mint combos enjoyed.
Keep up the fun! XO
I would measure mine in Wendy’s frostys because mmmmm and I could go for one right now
Love this post. I LOL’d
Diapers, wine, laundry, grocery pick-ups, constant mess in every room…to name a few!
I wrote this on your Instagram post but I will say it again here… Your posts always make me smile! And this past year.. smiles and laughter were much needed!!
I would have to say I would measure a year in cereal🤷♀️
