This little sass-a-frass will turn 4 this weekend. I’m not even sure how to comprehend that. If you missed our very first blog post, it tells all about my calm demeanor when finding out I was pregnant with her (and how we got our blog name).

This chick gets excited about everything, is Miss Independent, demands that Millie sleep with her for every nap and every night, loves salad but also won’t turn down a doughnut, is scared to death of Santa Claus, and loves baby dolls and her real life babies that she helps me with every day.
Even though she’s only four, she’s slightly too smart for her own good (yes, I realize every mother probably thinks that). She picks up on any and every clue whenever Mark and I try to talk in code when she’s around. She remembers everything. She LOVES asking questions to find out the answer to anything-she needs to know!
In honor of her day, I thought it would be fun to ask her general questions about life and see what she’d say.
Without further ado, here is “Wisdom from Claire.”
-Why should we be kind to people?
“Because it makes them happy.” *Shout it from the rooftops, Claire.
-What can you do to be nice to others?
“Give them a hug and kiss.” *Let’s not to strangers and during times of Covid*
-What should you do every time you get money?
“Pay it.” *Done.
-Why is it good to work hard?
“Because it’s good and too much TV is not” *So true, but she’s clearly never watched Parks and Rec.
-Why should we eat healthy food?
“It makes you grow tall to eat vegetables and stuff at Polt-Chuh-Lay (Chipotle)” *But probably not if you’re eating your weight in chips and guacamole #balance
-Why should we pray to God?
“To tell him all the things we love.” *Amen.
-What can we do to combat the aggressive political climate of 2020?
“Go Potty.” *You heard it here first, folks.
I hope that gave you some wisdom to go about your day. Meditate on all her thoughts-you’ll be better for it. 🙂

Happy birthday to our first girl! If you’d like to send her a gift, she loves trips to the salon to get her grays dyed, Lululemon leggings, and gift cards to Trader Joe’s. Oh wait…that’s me.
Peace, love, and Polt-Chuh-Lay,

To the girl who:
Surprised us all by breaking the “boy streak” in our family

Enjoys a salad but also a Happy Meal
Indulges me in loving all of my favorite children’s books
Is a good southern girls who asks for biscuits and is always up for an” only in the country” experience

I remember before your Mom and Dad were even married, your silly Mom would worry that her kids wouldn’t be cute OR smart! These pictures and your 4-year-old wisdom are proof her worries were
a complete waste of time. I wish I lived closer to you so I could play with you!
I do too! You’d be at the top spot of the babysitter list!!

And who, pray tell, is Pippy??
Writes like Miss Paula!
It’s me, Dell, and when on earth are you crossing the Atlantic to come home for good? (Kat has had a stressful school week, and Caroline is knee deep in a birthdayvparty scheduled for 10 in the morning, so I took it upon myself to respond to you.). But they always love it when you comment
Happy Birthday, Claire Bear. Come to Crawfordville so I can see your cute self.
