Another Friday. Another day of feeling like we live in some dystopian movie. Maybe we can add a little happy to your morning. Enjoy some of our favorites.
These broads had a photo shoot recently. I always order prints from Mpix. They ship them quickly, and the quality is the best. They also have discounts pretty frequently. If you need a place to order pictures, try them.
A few weeks ago, I was eating breakfast (it was this oatmeal in fact) while we were on the phone singing “Happy Birthday” to my niece. I stuck my fork straight into a blueberry and juice went FLYING all over my couch. I shouted to my brother in law that we had a Code Blueberry, and I needed to go. I had just purchased this stain remover that claims to work on a host of different things. I decided to give it a shot. You’d never know there was a blueberry explosion on the couch. Good as new.
I got these sunglasses recently, and they might be my favorite pair ever. They look more expensive than they actually cost and don’t give me a headache. That’s all I need.
Grab your Oreos and peanut butter and dive right into the joy that Katie Couric and Nancy Meyers gave us this week.
I’ve mentioned my love of Nancy Meyers’ movies before. They are charming. They are comforting. The music is always perfection. All of the homes in her movies are flawless. Ugh. What a queen.
This week they had a Parent Trap reunion, and it was delightful. Meredith Blakes’ hair color was a little questionable, but it was still a highlight from the week. Someone get me a Chessy.
Do you need something else to watch that is happy like a Parent Trap reunion? Of course you do. Indian Matchmaker to the rescue. My roommate and I were joking the other night about all the ridiculous things we’ve watched since March-Tiger King, McMillions, Love is Blind, every Investigation Discovery crime reenactment that Hulu has to offer, and now Indian Matchmaker. You’ll be surprised how invested you’ll get in these singles who have reached out to Mumbai’s queen of matchmaking. You’ll wonder, “How is SHE still single?” and for others, “I KNOW why she’s still single.”
We are going to take a glamorous sharp right turn. I’ve always struggled with blackheads and big pores. Big Pores and Big Personality: The Kat Stewart Story. Anyway, I’ve watched Jamie B. Golden’s insta highlight about her skin care routine multiple times. This liquid exfoliant is a game changer. I use it a few nights a week and have seen a very noticeable difference. Another small win for 2020.
I LOVE icing. As my good friend Patti Blevins says, “Cake is only there to hold the icing up.” So wise. One of my dear friends turned 50 this past week. I surprised her and took her cupcakes with this mocha icing from the Pioneer Woman. HO.LY. COW it’s good. I halved the recipe because that is a PILE of icing atop some brownies on her blog, and I had plenty with the halved recipe. I actually loved it so much that I made it again two days later, and zhuzhed up a brownie mix.
This kimono has been a bright spot this summer. I have worn it any time I go to the pool and have also worn it with cut-offs and a t-shirt. It’s so cute and the pattern is perfection. Now I know why Schmidt would want to “come home. Put on his mono. And just hang loose.”
I texted Caroline last week and said, “Do I need this lemon skirt?” She said, “Who knows what your work situation will be moving forward. I wouldn’t.” You know what I don’t need? Negativity. You know what I do need? A skirt with lemons on it.
This has been QUITE the list of favorites. Our last one is courtesy of our dad, Chuckles. He got lunch the other day and paid for the four police officers that were in line in front of him. THEN, a stranger saw what my dad did, and he went over and offered him $20 so the two of them could “split” the meals for the officers. I HATE country music, but Luke Bryan said it best with “I believe most people are good.”
Thank you so much for reading! Go out and spread kindness around like it’s mocha frosting.
