Warning: Today’s post is more American than a Toby Keith song.
I’m sharing some simple craft ideas if you have little ones. They involve minimal supplies and effort and maximum patriotic spirit.
“We’re Team USA gathered from all across America. We have to stick together.” -Mighty Ducks II
Are you feeling a little more patriotic now? I know I am. That quote hits me right in the heart.
The Star Spangled Beauty
We taped some star cut-outs on some paper and then used these dot markers. When we were done, we pulled off the star paper and immediately heard “God Bless America” go off in the background.
The Old Glory
Surprisingly, my little artist loved this one and even worked through the whole thing even though it took a while. We just tore off little pieces of tissue paper, crinkled them up, and glued them down to form the flag.
Similar to the first craft, we drew out some letters and taped them down. Then we cut out some stamps from a sponge. Easy, cute, and American.
The Lee Greenwood
Some contact paper and some tissue paper scraps made this happen. Cut out a shape with some construction paper, then cut out the same shape with some contact paper. Lay some tissue paper pieces all over the sticky side and then lay another contact paper piece on top. We made a few of these and strung them together for a mobile situation. I don’t have a picture of that because the twins have moved it somewhere, but I’m sure I’ll find it in a few days.
Obviously, all of these are simple, but they all turned out so cute and could easily be adapted for crafts for anytime of the year. Claire enjoyed them all, and we even did some more than once.
Happy Fourth, y’all!
